The obedient servant:

And so the process of immediately giving back began in 1994 with the formal initiation of the writings found here and on my web site: www.panenthiesm.com

You are invited to go to the web site for information free of all advertisement, royalties, and/or fees.

Analogy:

The Appalachian Mountains, East side, West side and Cumberland Gap represent an analogy regarding the fourth way to finding one’s self, to approaching the fourth way towards mastering one’s self.

In the fifteen hundreds the Appalachian Mountains acted as a monumental barrier separating the East coast from the Western portion of North America.

It wasn’t until the discovery of the Cumberland Gap that the process of reaching the West became less difficult. Until the discovery of the Cumberland Gap individuals trying to access the Western portion of North America could spend their entire lives attempting to cross the mountains and still never accomplish the journey.

With the discovery of the Cumberland Gap the journey became less arduous and the success rate of reaching the West leaped upward.

The mountains represent the silence for those attempting to find one’s true essence, attempting to answer haunting questions such as: Is this all there is? Why do I exist? Why does suffering exist? Is there such a thing as a ‘soul’?

The east side of the mountains represents Reality one: the corporeal, the physical.

The west side of the mountains represents Reality two: the non-corporeal, the non-physical, the Divine.

The Cumberland Gap leading through the Appalachian Mountains represents the path a few individuals have taken to cross into the silence, represents the ‘region’ into which one can step in order to observe, from afar, both the physical, corporal and observe the divine.

The path of the individuals who have stepped into the silence can be shared with the few individuals who sincerely wish to reach the other side of the mountains, who wish to find their true essence, who wish to work.

This book is for the few. The masses have no desire to make the journey just as the masses had no desire to make the journey to reach the west.

For those yearning to find answers, the choice remains no different than the choice facing those wishing to make the journey from the east to the west once the Cumberland Gap had been discovered and marked.

One could and can choose to attempt to make the journey on one’s own, paying no heed to those who have made the journey, or one can choose to take advantage of the frontiersmen who came before them and follow the path of those who successfully made the journey.

In time the journey from east to west became common place and non-unique.

So it will be for the fourth way. Presently the more common techniques are the way of fakir, the yogi and the monk.

There is also a fourth way. The fourth way has existed for thousands of years but is less well known.

The knowledge and understanding as to the fruits of one’s labor and energy exerted to make the journey are fully explored in Chapters 7, 8 and 9.

All four journeys are long, difficult, filled with hardship and seldom successful.

The fourth way allows one to make the journey without forgoing life’s more conventional journeys, without forgoing one’s responsibilities in this life, without forgoing one’s responsibilities  for traveling in World one, for traveling within the physical world.

My journey has been long and personally difficult. The journey of unrelenting daily shocks brought me to the abyss of Reality One many many times.

Finally after much work within Reality One/the physical, I learned to stand in the void, alone, isolated, smothered in darkness. Then, after much time I learned the void was not truly a void for I was there standing in the void, albeit alone but there nevertheless. Then after much more time I had my first contact with a spirit guide who had stepped into the void to communicate with me as I stood within the void. After much work, this spirit guide introduced me to the Council of Elders who would join me within the void from Reality Two.

As I stood in the silence a contract was agreed upon: They, the Council of Elders, would give me answers to questions they decided were pertinent to their given task, namely: Advancing humankind’s knowledge and understanding of Reality, the whole of Reality. I in turn was to pass the information along to you.

' At a certain point there are no leaders and no followers, only those who both question and listen. The teaching is a guide, and only he who questions more deeply can be responsible to serve.'
The Reality of Being: The Fourth Way of Gurdjieff, Jeanne De Salzmann, Shambhala, 2010, p109.

With this being said, I can do no more than give you what has been given to me as I stood alone in the void, in the nothingness, in the silence.

There will be much doubt regarding the validity of the information found within this book. I understand this and accept it for what it is.

What you do with the information is for you to decide. I, on the other hand, by writing and disseminating these works, have lived up to my end of the contract to the best of my ability.

At the risk of being labeled intentionally deceptive, insane, addled, pompous and/or delusional, I tell you I stand before you as an H1 or what some might refer to as a channeling level 4.

Why do I do this work? I do this work for my own benefit. If the work benefits others, so much the better.

“What a man has received he must immediately give back; only then can he receive more. Otherwise from him will be taken even what he has already been given.”
Gurdjieff quote, In Search of the Miraculous, The Teachings of Gurdjieff,
P. D. Ouspensky, Harcourt, Inc., 1949, 1977, p. 204

The history of the unveiling of objective truth regarding reality began in 1993 and the recording of the information began in 1994 with the initiation of the generic trilogy:
1.     You and I Together: Have a Purpose In Reality (simplistic description)
2.     In the Image of God (application)
3.     Stepping Up To the Creator (validation)

The second trilogy followed with the initiation of The War and Peace of a New Metaphysical Perception
1.     Volume I: Resolving ancient philosophical paradoxes
2.     Volume II: Resolving recent philosophical paradoxes
3.     Volume III: Introducing new philosophical paradoxes

Both trilogies came to fruition long before I was introduced to the works of Gurdjieff and his followers.

I mention the timeline because the works of Gurdjieff and his followers acted as validation to what it was I had and was experiencing and not as enlightenment.

In fact I was not introduced to most of the works of Gurdjieff and his followers that are referenced in this book until after the first book of this, the third trilogy, was completed.
1.     Understanding Theosophy
a.     A Primer for the Secret Doctrine
b.     Generic Version: Understanding Reality
2.     Understanding The Fourth Way
a.     A Primer for The Fourth Way
b.     Generic Version: Understanding Self
3.     Understanding ???
a.     A Primer for ???
b.     Generic Version: Understanding The Higher???

I have, ever since standing in the aura of Cosmic Consciousness at the age of seven, wanted to understand the answer to three questions regarding Reality: Where are we? What are we? And, why do we exist?

How is it this blog extends far beyond analysis?
Analysis comes from an individual. This work did not come from me but rather came through me.
I have been given information to questions I have been asking for more than sixty years and within this primer are answers which directly pertain to four basic aspects of the Gurdjieff Foundation’s works.

1.     The individuals true essence
2.     The Diagram of Everything Living
3.     The Circle of Life – Ouspensky, p 205
4.     Gurdjieff’s primary quest

'But what is this!!! Can it be really so??!! A new thought[1]!!! Why hitherto could there not have come to my head such a simple thought?’
Live Is Real Only Then, When ‘I Am’, G. I. Gurdjieff, All and Everything, Third Series, Penguin Arkana, 1978, p. 22

In return for receiving such information, I have agreed to pass the knowledge and understanding on to you.
This journey for truth began in 1951.

Analysis:

It is often said within the Gurdjieff Society: One needs to experience not analyze.

Although it may appear blog is a work of analysis, it is in fact far more than an analysis. This blog presents a potential paradigm shift regarding The Higher, the cosmos and man.

This blog adds an evolutionary step up the evolutionary stairway humanity has been traveling since humanity’s inception.

Absolute truth

A surprising number of people in the Gurdjieff Society hold to the 'belief' of there being no absolute, no objective truth, but, Gurdjieff says of objective truth:

“Knowledge, however, the real objective knowledge towards which man, as he asserts, is struggling, is possible only in the fourth state of consciousness…
”… Knowledge which is acquired in the ordinary state of consciousness is intermixed with dreams.”

Gurdjieff Quote, In Search of the Miraculous, The Teachings of Gurdjieff, P. D. Ouspensky, Harcourt Inc., 1949, 1977, p. 145

And this observation by Ouspensky regarding Gurdjieff and 'objective truth', absolute truth:

"There were certain points to which G. invariably used to return in all his talks with us after the formal lectures … the difficulty of conveying “objective truths …
… knowledge of the All, was for him objective knowledge. ...
... The successive transmission of the ideas of objective knowledge has always been a part of the task of those possessing this knowledge."
In Search of the Miraculous, The Teachings of Gurdjieff, P. D. Ouspensky, Harcourt Inc., 1949, 1977, p. 278 - 279

Is there such a thing as 'truth'?

Is there such a thing as ‘truth’?

There is such a thing as truth. In fact there are two forms of truth. There is ‘objective truth’ and there is ‘subjective truth’.

Some would have you believe all truth is ‘subjective’ but they are the relativists, doubters, secularists, atheists, non-believers, obstructionists, envious, unaware  …

Subjective truth is truth found ‘within’ one’s self, is found within one's false egos.

To find ‘objective truth’ one must look both ‘outside’ one’s self as well as deep within one's self, look beyond one's false egos for this is where objective truth/absolute truth is found. This is not to say one cannot ‘feel’ and understand objective truth within one’s self, rather this is to say ‘objective truth’ is the same for all of us, is universal in nature and thus is all around us, all around each and every one of us and as such is found ‘outside’ our personal self and is found deep within each and every one of us for we are all the same in terms of our true essence.

An indepth analysis of objective truth can be found in the free book section of this blog under the title: Panentheism Addressing the Whole of Reality

What you seek - simplistically speaking

Picture
Figure 0.0 is the most simplistic graphic I can provide you regarding what you are seeking and why it is you are seeking what it is you are seeking.

Now the graphic will most likely have no meaning to you at this point in our dialogue but reflect upon it for a day or two and then I will give you some basic insights into the graphic.

In fact, this web blog will spend a great deal of time expanding upon this graphic in order to lead you through the process of finding just what it is you seek and why it is such a task is important to you and worthy of your energies.

You may have been a member of the Gurdjieff Society for some time or maybe you are new to the society.

You have been told: 'If you 'wish' to find your true essence, with time you can find it here.

But what exactly does that mean? Everything seems mysterious. No one will commit to describing just what it is, what this 'true self' is.

No one will admit to being a level four, being a number four man, because no one wants to appear arrogant. Everyone wants to be 'humble'. Everything is wrapped in a shroud of mystery.

Well I will tell you up front, I am a level four man, a number four man, and I celebrate the fact. I refuse to exude false humility any longer.and yes I will remove the shroud of mystery hiding the process of becoming such.

I will teach you 'a' process of attaining level four for it is my belief that once one has traveled the path, one can can facilitate the journey for others, can shorten the long, arduous and tedious process of becoming a number four individual.

One who has made the journey has an obligation to assist others, male or female, in their journey of becoming a number four individual.

The greater the number of individuals who reach level four, the more able we will be in our quest to advance the human race in its relentless effort to understand itself and move the human race along in its effort to raise it perceptual understanding of 'where we are', 'what we are' and 'why it is we exist.

In the mean time, reflect upon the graphic and soon we will begin an examination of just what this graphic, Fig. 0.0, has to offer.

Enough about your teacher. It is time to move on and begin focusing upon you and your journey.

Regarding your personal journeys

First and foremost, I wish for all of you peace and success in finding what it is you seek secondly, know what it is you seek is real and more exciting than you could ever imagine.

Second, know also the way to understanding is first preceded by seeking knowledge and the process to gaining knowledge lies in questioning, questioning deeply, questioning assertively, questioning relentlessly.

It is said there is nothing more powerful than to wish.

My wish is that the knowledge and understanding put forth on this web site will help you along your journey to know and understand what it is you are attempting to do and how to speed up the process to get to your end goal.

The last words belong appropriately to Jeanne De Salzmann, Ouspensky and last but definitely not least, Gurdjieff. May their words of wisdom aid you as you proceed in your journey along the Fourth Way.

Regarding questioning:

'The teaching is the guide, and only he who questions more deeply can be responsible to serve. '
The Reality of Being, The Fourth Way of Gurdjieff, Jeanne De Salzmann, Shambhala, 2010, p. 109

Regarding intentions

“The quicker a man grasps the aim of the work  which is being executed, the quicker can he become useful to it and the more will he be able to get from it for himself.”   Gurdiieff quote
In Search of the Miraculous, The Teachings of Gurdjieff, P. D. Ouspensky, Harcourt, Inc., 1949, 1977, p313

Regarding your personal journeys

‘... one had to experience Presence as a “second body”  in order to have a stability and independence that could be free from outside influences.
… the concept without the experience was not enough.’
Gurdjieff quote
The Reality of Being, The Fourth Way of Gurdjieff,
Jeanne De Salzmann, Shambhala, 2010, p. xvii
